Hybrid inverters and solar controllers
INVERTERS transform the direct voltage of the batteries into 230V/50Hz AC, which is the standard for the domestic electric distribution network in Bulgaria. In terms of the shape of the alternating voltage at their output, inverters are divided into full sine wave and modified sine wave. Inverters with a modified sine wave are not suitable for powering electric motors (drills, refrigerators, air conditioners, etc.) and fluorescent lighting. All inverters offered by us are full sine wave, highly efficient and offer high peak power – 2 x the ‘nominal’.
INVERTER/CHARGER is a device that, in addition to providing ‘mains’ voltage, can charge the battery with energy from the grid or a generator. These devices have an input for 230V AC, an output for 230V AC and terminals for connecting the battery, for example 48V DC. Complete with a battery, the inverter/charger constitutes an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
HYBRID INVERTERS are an inverter/charger and a solar charge controller in one housing. Therefore, for the installation of a photovoltaic system with energy storage, a hybrid inverter, photovoltaic panels and a battery are needed. VERSOLEY LTD offers inverter/charger and hybrid inverters of the highest class, manufactured by the Dutch company Victron Energy and the Chinese TBB Power. All inverters are for 48V battery banks, ‘low frequency’ technology, work in sync with the ‘grid’ and are preferred when building Photovoltaic systems with energy storage (ESS) for the home.
The Rio Sun II series hybrid single-phase inverters from TVB Power are characterized by excellent quality and high reliability. The output power according to the different models is from 3.0kW to 8.0kW, the built-in solar controller has two MPPT inputs and a voltage from the photovoltaic panels up to 250V DC.
To build a three-phase system, three single-phase hybrid inverters are needed, with a maximum of 9 inverters can work together for a total power of 72.0kW.
The inverters can operate without a battery, supplying the loads directly from the electricity generated from solar radiation.
In addition to 230V AC input and output, they have an intelligent port that can be configured as an 230V AC input or a programmable output for powering loads.
Victron Energy’s Multiplus inverter/chargers are one of the leading products in the world of photovoltaic systems in terms of reliability, functionality and warranty support.
Their power ranges from 0.8kW to 15.0kW, based on low-frequency transformer technology, which provides peak power of twice the nominal, high reliability and low internal consumption.
The customer support is at the industry leading level, and the software is ‘open source’ and allows maximum flexibility in configuring the systems.
To build a photovoltaic system, in addition to the inverter/charger, photovoltaic panels, a battery bank and a solar charge controller is needed.
Victron Energy offers the most diverse range of solar controllers in the world, with their charging current ranging from 10A to 200A, and the input voltage from 75V to 450V. They work with the standard safe battery voltages of 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V.
SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLERS are the heart of autonomous photovoltaic systems. They connect the photovoltaic modules with the battery bank, which in turn powers the consumers ( lighting, household appliances, 220V AC inverters, etc.). There are two main types of controllers – Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), with those working with MPPT technology achieving up to 20-30% higher efficiency.
